4H Casting Contest 2011
Once again there are a lot of happy campers out on Twin Lakes. Thanks to clubmembers: Bob and Dorothy Steiner, Frank and Pat Stricklin, Jody Bessert, Roger Mosely Dan Anderson and Leon Lilly for all your help. Bob Steiner does all the legwork for this event as youth director for the club. He ensures we have ribbons, targets, scoresheets, rods, reels and casting plugs, and anything else we might need. Corrina Coan (a clubmemeber back in 1982) is the camp coordinator and every time we see her she makes sure we know next years camp date.
Fishing Kids 2011 Wrap Up
If you wonder why we stand on the beach all day helping these kids, just look at these pictures and your sore back and feet seem pretty insignificant. This event is truly a community affair. I am always amazed at how quickly we can raise over $6.000 to fund this event. I know the smiles on the kids faces are enough thanks, but they would not be there without each of you contributing to the success of this event. Almost 350 kids (I don't have the total number of "walk ups", but 336 were pre-registered. Thanks
The beach was cleaned by Americorps, nets and fish installed on Friday. Jody Bessert helped with the rod building at the community center Friday evening. Bluewater Tackle provided the worms.
